Using the most technologically advanced equipment, Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Skin Photo-Rejuvenation treatment is performed by Dr. Ramin R. Samadi and other highly trained, board-certified physicians and medical providers of Artisan Aesthetics.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Skin Photo-Rejuvenation treatment is a new FDA approved non-invasive and non-ablating treatment modality. When used in the face area it is also known as Photo-Facial. This treatment modality can also be used on other body areas, including neck, chest (décolleté), arms, and hands. IPL is used for Photo-Rejuvenation treatment of sun damage (photo-aging), fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity and shagging, brown pigments (age or liver spots), facial veins (telangiectasias), rosacea and facial flushing, birthmarks, port wine stains, large pores, acne scarring, pre-cancerous Actinic Keratoses (AK) lesions, and other skin ailments. In addition to removing skin pigment irregularities and imperfections, it also improves skin tone and texture, resulting in more vibrant and radiant skin. IPL only treats the targeted areas and leaves the surrounding tissues intact. Specific settings are tailored for each patient and treatment to maximize improvement. IPL therapy does not cause any surface skin damage. Treatments are very well tolerated and usually do not require any pre-treatment anesthetics. This procedure does not have any “down-time”. Make up can be applied immediately post treatment.
As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, in most occasions, more than one treatment is required to maximize the outcome of the treatment. Each treatment usually lasts around 15-30 minutes. Approximately 5 or more treatment sessions, which are 2-4 weeks apart, are usually required for optimal results. IPL brings gradual changes over the course of treatments. After a full course, you may notice improvement in skin texture, decrease of redness and flushing, elimination of unwanted spots and vasculature, evenness of skin color, and a youthful skin tone. IPL can be used in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation treatment modalities, such as Laser Skin Photo-Rejuvenation treatment, Medical Microdermabrasion and Medical Chemical Peels, for optimization of the aesthetics and anti-aging skin care.
