Laser and IPL Spider Vein Treatment
Using the most technologically advanced equipment, Laser & IPL Spider Veins treatment is performed by Dr. Ramin R. Samadi and other highly trained, board-certified physicians and medical providers of Artisan Aesthetics.
Depending on their size and depth, the superficial “blue” and “red” spider veins in legs and other parts of the body can be treated by utilizing highly specialized medical laser equipments. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) equipment can also be used in specific cases. These procedures are significantly better tolerated than sclerotherapy. No needles or injections are used for these treatments. Varicose veins should be treated with sclerotherapy and other therapeutic modalities than laser or IPL.
Specifically designed laser equipments are used to treat “blue” and “purple” spider leg veins. These veins respond to the precise laser beam’s energy level and wave length. Due to the extremely focalized nature of the laser beam, the overlying skin and the surrounding tissue is not affected at all. Over time, the treated vein will be absorbed by the body and will disappear from sight.
The IPL is reserved for treating confluence (groupings or gatherings) of smaller “red” veins. The localized absorbed light energy will transform into heat which will cause the elimination of these “red” veins. Once again, the overlying skin and the surrounding tissue is not affected at all. Over time, the treated vein will be absorbed by the body and will disappear from sight.
These procedures require no “down-time”. However, it would be beneficial to avoid physical and strenuous activities for 3 days after the treatment. Some vessels will require “touch-ups”. Many spider veins will require multiple treatments. Sessions are spread over a 10-12 weeks time span.
